Case Studies
Explore how Opticomm has delivered fibre network solutions for developments across Australia.
Mixed-Use Development
Central Park
Spanning 5.8 hectares opposite the University of Technology Sydney, Central Park is a landmark 5 Green Star mixed-use precinct delivering 2,200 apartments, commercial space, a shopping centre, a boutique hotel and community facilities.
Opticomm's superfast GPON fibre network underpins the development's next-generation telecommunications and building automation, providing 100 Mbps internet, phone, Foxtel, Freeview TV, video intercom, CCTV and connectivity for the energy monitoring system.
Retail
Eastland Shopping Centre
First opened in 1967, the staged redevelopment of Eastland in Ringwood gave Opticomm the opportunity to replace a patchwork of legacy copper networks with a single, integrated fibre-rich GPON solution serving tenants, building managers and customers.
The open-access network allows retailers to choose their preferred carrier from Opticomm's provider panel, while supporting Wi-Fi analytics, video analytics, parking guidance and payment, facial recognition, CCTV, RTLS, wireless lockers and the building management system.
Lifestyle Resort
Gemlife Bribie Island
Gemlife Bribie Island is a horizontal gated lifestyle resort for over-50s, offering bowling greens, tennis courts, a ballroom, conference rooms, a bar, BBQ areas, ten-pin bowling, a simulated golf course and more, all secured behind electronic access control.
Opticomm delivered a sophisticated single-fibre network that carries residents' telephone and internet, free-to-air and Foxtel TV, electronic security across shared facilities, and third-party electricity and water metering — all over a unified pit and pipe infrastructure ready for future technologies.
Hospitality
Aloft Perth
Part of Marriott International, Aloft Perth is a 224-room hotel and conference venue built around the promise of 'connectivity that keeps up with you' — backed by an Opticomm turnkey fibre network from day one.
Our ICN engineers and project managers acted as master system integrators, seamlessly combining wired and wireless networks with electronic security, audiovisual, IPTV, unified communications, GPON, Wi-Fi and room automation — delivering several world-first integrations, including the Australian-first integration of telephony with Opera PMS.
Master-Planned Community
Oran Park Raceway
Once an iconic Sydney motor racing circuit, the Oran Park site has been reborn as one of the first precincts in the NSW Government's South West Priority Growth Area, ultimately housing around 50,000 residents across a 50,000 sqm town centre, neighbourhood centres, schools and 148 hectares of open space.
Opticomm has been the precinct's telecommunications partner since 2008, designing, building and operating the fibre-to-the-premises network — with headworks tucked inside the town centre to minimise visual impact and now passing more than 8,000 homes across south-west Sydney.
Smart City
The Links
The Links Lifestyle Resort, created by Sea Spirit Lifestyle, is a 199-home coastal community at South West Rocks on the mid-north coast of NSW, near the mouth of the Macleay River and on the traditional lands of the Dunghutti people.
When complete, the resort will be home to more than 350 residents living in a safe, secure and sustainable environment — connected by the Opticomm Fibre Network and enabled by Opticomm Smart City technologies.
