Luxury Lifestyle resort developer GemLife has engaged Opticomm to connect its Bribie Island site, with a unique focus on state-of-the-art facilities for sports and recreation, individual skills development and community events, as well as systems for entertainment, wellbeing, safety and security.
With this in mind, the team realised that these innovations would require a single fibre-to-the-premise network capable of supporting a broad range of technologies, in addition to standard internet and telephone services for residents.
As a result, Opticomm was selected as the network provider as it has a proven track record in performance and service, as well as the flexibility to enhance the network to accommodate future applications as they develop.
Adrian Puljich, Director and CEO of GemLife says “Opticomm really understood GemLife’s vision for the future-proofing our over-50s’ lifestyle resorts. The quality of the work, attention to detail and Opticomm’s big-picture thinking complemented ours perfectly”.
At Bribie Island, the Opticomm network enables residents to choose from a wide range of internet service providers who offer affordable plans with plenty of network capacity to support video streaming services such as Netflix™ and Stan™.
Free-to-Air Television and FOXTEL™ is also delivered via the Opticomm network. Opticomm engineers recently upgraded the network to enable the latest FOXTEL 4K streaming services. Additionally, two TV channels of community information are available on all televisions within the resort via the new GemLifeTV™ service.
To keep the community safe, visitors access the resort via video intercom from vehicle and pedestrian gates, which connects to residents and the management team. Residents can seamlessly enter the village as the license plate recognition system automatically detects when a resident’s vehicle is on approach.
Opticomm National Lifestyle sales manager Jason Clarke says “The GemLife team has taken an innovative approach to this development. All the network applications at Bribie Island are connected and enabled by the single fibre network”.
