Residents Connecting your new home

Steps to getting connected

Are you moving into a new home within an Opticomm connected building or community?

Getting started is simple:

1. Check your address

The first step to getting connected is to check the status of your address. The address search tool will return a list of addresses, simply select the one that best matches your property. If no results display, this usually means your property or premises is not within an Opticomm connected community and cannot be connected.

If your premises is within an Opticomm connected community, you may be asked for some additional information.

The search tool will also notify you if work is required at your premises and if a connection fee applies to get you connected.

2. Contact your preferred Service Provider

Once you’ve confirmed that your address is available on the Opticomm network, contact your preferred phone and internet service provider, as they will be able to arrange your connection and service activation.

What's Opticomm's role versus your internet provider?

Opticomm is a wholesale access network provider. We build, own and manage the fibre network that connects your home to the internet backbone via your preferred service provider. Learn more about the role of Opticomm and our service providers below:

Role of Opticomm

Opticomm is a wholesale network operator of the ‘access’ part of the network. Opticomm delivers your service and acts as one link in the chain of network providers that your service provider utilises to deliver an internet or telephone service.

Role of your service provider

Your contract for internet or telephone services is with your service provider and your service provider is responsible for the end-to-end delivery and support of your service. Service providers are responsible for placing service calls and following up any wholesalers they use to deliver your service.
