The Links Case studies

The Solution

Opticomm deployed a smart city network solution. Resident, staff, and community facilities are connected to the Opticomm fibre network which is distributed across the resort from a central Smart City Hub™, which houses the application server computers. Community assets are connected via Smart City Nodes™, many of which are housed in over 36 smart poles which are being deployed in the construction phase between stages 5 – 12.

The Opticomm network is connected to the fully automated front gate as well as the pedestrian entry, and a dedicated golf cart gate which can be securely accessed by a code, card, or the vehicle number plate recognition system for frictionless entry. Visitors to the resort can use a video intercom system from any of the gates to contact residents via the Opticomm network.

Solar panels across the resort are connected to the Opticomm network to enable solar power to be managed on hot days, enabling sustainable electricity generation while ensuring a stable energy grid.

As well as being able to access a wide range of facilities, residents at The Links are connected to the Opticomm fibre network that offers internet speeds up to 1Gbs from over 50+ Retail Service Providers. The Opticomm network supports a wide variety of applications across the resort – including a community TV network for interactive virtual yoga classes, CCTV for safety, and security and community Wi-Fi with a customised splash page.

When complete, the resort will be home to a vibrant community of over 350 connected residents that live in a safe, secure and sustainable environment enabled by Opticomm Smart City technologies and connected by the Opticomm Fibre Network.
