Located 26km south of Perth’s CBD, Treeby is the culmination of a partnership between the Department of Communities and LWP Property Group.
When complete, the 300+ lots in Treeby will connect to the internet via Opticomm fibres, with the company set to install its fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) infrastructure throughout the estate.
In addition to the housing at Treeby, a community centre and primary school – opening in 2022 – will both be located in the local centre adjacent the existing café and childcare facilities, further bolstering the offering for would-be residents.
Opticomm’s infrastructure will allow for speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps), as well as phone services, free-to-air and Foxtel, international TV networks, and free public Wi-Fi in designated public open spaces (POS).
Television services using Opticomm fibres eliminates the need for rooftop antennas, meaning Treeby will be a clean roof development.
The site at Treeby will be technologically advanced, future-proofing it for residents and making life easier, according to Opticomm state manager Kevin Chambers.
” At Treeby we have the option of enabling speeds of up to 1Gbps, meaning residents can feel confident that their new technologies, home entertainment and working arrangements will work on their home internet.
“ We are also installing public Wi-Fi in selected public spaces in Treeby, meaning residents can connect to high-speed internet when they are out and about – not just in their home,” he said.
