Check the status of your address via our address checker tool.
As the rollout is happening progressively, your address will not be assigned to a cluster until approximately 8 weeks before the work to install the fibre is scheduled to begin. Once your address is assigned to a cluster, you’ll also be able to view estimated windows for works via the address checker tool.

The Wamboin, Bywong and Sutton fibre rollout is funded through the NSW Government’s Regional Digital Connectivity program and has a one connection per one address policy. If you are interested in connecting another dwelling at your address please raise a feasibility request with the Opticomm team and we can review the premises and provide a quote for connection.
All addresses that are eligible for a government-funded connection as part of the Wamboin, Bywong and Sutton fibre rollout are now finalised.
If you’ve been notified that your address is outside the footprint or ineligible in the rollout, we encourage you to raise a feasibility request as soon as possible, and our team will assess your address. Please note that the feasibility request can’t be completed until the specific design and construction work for your area has commenced, so waiting periods will apply.
While we would love to connect every address in the area, there may be locations we won’t be able to connect due to factors such as access, or environmental or topographical issues.
Opting out means that Opticomm will not contact you or conduct the works at your property to connect your premises to the network. If you, or future owners of the property wish to connect to the Opticomm FTTP network at a later stage, charges will be incurred.
Each property is different, and some installations may take longer.
Someone over the age of 18 years must at at home during the installation appointment to give permission for the lead-in work to be undertaken, otherwise the work cannot proceed. If this this person is not the property owner, they must have the owners permission for the work to be carried out and agree to the lead-in pathway and device location at the required location on your property and provide details of any special aspects of the property that we should be aware of.
First, you will need to register your details, so we can provide you with updates, and reach you to book an appointment for your lead-in installation and connection. If you have not registered your address, please do so now.
Your installation window will be updated on our website once we are getting close to connecting to your property. This may not happen for a few months (3–9 months) until we start your tranche (or cluster of addresses).
To reschedule your installation appointment (lead-in or exterior works) please call our approved technicians on 1300 855 041 (this number is for installation appointments only) as soon as possible so that they can make alternate arrangements for you.
To avoid additional charges, rescheduled appointments must be within the advised date range for your address.
The lead-in conduit will be direct buried at a depth of approximately 30cm This may be dependent on the composition of the soil/rock or other features in the area.
Your knowledge on where these are located will be a huge benefit to us, and we’ll work to ensure that these are not damaged during the installation stage.
The direct buried trench is approximately 30cm in depth, or slot trench approximately 100mm to 150mm.
Slot trenching – small to medium truck or direct buried trench, small digging machine.
In every instance we will avoid trees or go under gardens, however, we will work with you to ensure the least impacted pathway is taken without compromising the fibre connection.
No impact is anticipated to any fencing. The lead in will be run underneath the fence or within an open space (driveway) on your property.
There will be 2 devices installed at your house.
There will be a PCD (Premises Connection Device) installed on the exterior of your property. It will be placed on the side of the property, preferably in the location of other utility boxes (such as the power circuit board).
The second device is a connection box or NTD (Network Termination Device), which will be installed inside your house close to a power point. The NTD (inside) will be placed within 2m of the PCD (outside).
The outside device (PCD) is D 37mm x W 95mm x H 130mm (white).
The internal device (NTD) is D 43mm x W 193mm x L 231mm (black). The NTD will need to be installed close to a power plug and within 2m of the PCD.
Your chosen phone and internet provider will be able to advise what equipment you need.
It’s anticipated that the installation works will only cause minimal disturbance and not severely impact gardens or grassed areas. Every care is taken to ensure that installation of the devices will not detract or devalue your home.
Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss the problem.
Your existing wireless or mobile services will still be active when you get connected to the Opticomm network. To amend or cancel theses services you’ll need to contact your current service provider.
Register your details to keep up to date with information about your property, and we’ll be in touch ahead of any works needing to be carried out.
